A qualified Humanistic Person-centred Psychotherapist, practising near Bingham (NG13), I am also trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and have become an accredited Practitioner of EMDR. Therapy can be short term (6-8 sessions) or longer term, based on clients’ individual needs.
My priority is to establish a therapeutic alliance and I work at relational depth; I integrate a range of theories eg from the psychodynamic and TA traditions when appropriate, and I incorporate strategies from all areas of my training, led by the client, and collaboratively.
I have a business background at a senior level, and a particular interest in work-place stress.
At the heart of my work, is the compassion, non-judgemental empathy and genuine-ness which I seek to offer and trust my clients will experience; for me these are fundamental to self-discovery and self-awareness, which can lead to self-acceptance and self-compassion, combating shame and distress. From this, clients may learn to make and trust their own assessment of the (personal) right way forward, gain the courage to make different choices, and bring about positive change in their lives.
